Police say Brown was crossing 124th Street at Sahuaro Drive on Sunday nigh to attend a "Trunk or Treat" event with her nieces at the McDowell Mountain Community Church when she was hit. She remains in intensive care, and no suspect has been identified.
Investigators say they have very little to go one.
"We need your help," Maureen's father, Ron Brown said.
"Maureen is very very special," her mother, Annie, said though tears Friday afternoon. "She's the best daughter you could have."
Brown's parents said that she and her boyfriend had purchased an engagement ring the day before the accident and he was going to ask her father for permission to marry her.
Doing his best to fight back tears, her father said that if Maureen wants to marry Will [her boyfriend] he would be very proud.
Brown is an 8th grade teacher at Cocopah Middle School in Scottsdale. Assistant principal Steve Salcito said the students and staff there miss her and are asking for anyone with information about the accident to come forward.
