TEMPE, Ariz. — A suspect is in custody after a video of a driver ramming into two Tempe Police Department patrol vehicles went viral.
Officers were called to the area of Scottsdale Road and Playa De Norte Drive Wednesday afternoon for a male driver slumped over the wheel, according to the Tempe Police Department.
When officers approached the vehicle they were able to roll down the window and open the door before the driver tried to drive off.
Video shared on social media shows the driver attempting to leave and hit two patrol vehicles in that effort.
Officers were able to shock the driver, but he was able to drive off southbound.
Tempe police announced an arrest in the incident Wednesday evening but did not identify the suspect or indicate what charges they could face.
