Valley driver arrested after 13-year-old dies in Phoenix crash

The fatal crash occurred on July 22 near 7th Street and Bell Road.

PHOENIX — A Cave Creek man has been taken into custody for allegedly causing a hit-and-run crash that killed a 13-year-old in north Phoenix. 

Kyle Nobbley, 39, was arrested Wednesday after investigators uncovered evidence connecting him to a fatal collision that occurred on July 22 near 7th Street and Bell Road, court documents show. 

Nobbley was allegedly driving a Chevrolet Silverado and hit the back of a car stopped at the intersection. The Chevrolet Silerado then drove off. The suspect's car was allegedly traveling at 52 mph in an area with a speed limit of 40 mph, records show.

A 13-year-old passenger in the other vehicle was taken to a hospital and passed away, court records show.

Nobbley has been booked into the Maricopa County jail for pending charges of manslaughter and endangerment.
