2 in critical condition after south Phoenix crash

PHOENIX — Two people have been rushed to the hospital in critical condition following a crash in south Phoenix, according to officials.

The Phoenix Fire Department said the crash happened Friday morning near 32nd Street and Broadway Road. The crash happened near Phoenix Fire Station 23 and crews were able to quickly help those involved in the crash.

Emergency crews quickly treated two adults who were transported in critical condition. Phoenix police will be in charge of the investigation.

Authorities said a box truck was reportedly stolen in Ahwatukee and officers attempted to stop it near 48th Street and Broadway Road before it fled from police.

The truck then ran a red light while going westbound near 32nd Street and Broadway Road. Police said the truck hit a car and another truck, causing injuries.

The roadway will be closed as police investigate and the scene is cleaned up.
