Shooting in south Phoenix, no injuries reported

Police spoke with teens and young adults present at the incident, but do not yet know what led up to the shooting.

PHOENIX — A shooting occurred in south Phoenix, police said.

Phoenix police officers near Southern and 7th avenues heard several gunshots on Sunday around 5:30 a.m. When the officers arrived at the scene, they observed a house with a lot of people around it. Two boys were near the house and found with a gun, police said.

Police said both boys will be arrested and booked into the juvenile court center.

Officers also spoke with teens and young adults in the house to learn more details of what led to the incident. No one was identified as injured during the shooting, police said.

One victim did go to police to report his necklace stolen during the shooting, according to police.

The identities of the two boys, as well as their ages, were not released.
