18-year-old dead after shooting in north Phoenix

The 'murder is still under investigation,' police say.

PHOENIX — An 18-year-old is dead following a shooting in north Phoenix, police said.

Phoenix police officers responded to the area of 19th Avenue and Bell Road at 3 a.m. on Oct. 20 for a shooting call. Upon arrival, police said they found a man with a gunshot wound.

Phoenix fire responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead. He's been identified as Joshua Carter.

According to police, “this murder is still under investigation.” 

No information was provided regarding potential suspects or what led up to the shooting.
