1 injured following shooting in Tempe

TEMPE, Ariz. — A man is injured following a shooting in Tempe early Sunday morning, police said.

Tempe police officers responded to a shooting at Fat Tuesday, a restaurant on Mill Avenue, just after 1 a.m. Police officers found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the shoulder. The man was transported to the hospital for treatment, police said.

Police said a man was "upset" he was denied entry into Fat Tuesday and he fired his gun, hitting the man who police found with a gunshot wound. The man who was shot was an uninvolved bystander, police said.

The man who fired his gun ran from the area but was found by police nearby and placed under arrest without incident.

There is no threat to the public, police said. Police did not release the names of the people involved or any more information related to the incident.
