Scottsdale-based private jet service shuts down, canceling all future flights

In a statement on its website, Set Jet announced it was ceasing all operations "effective immediately."

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Set Jet, a private jet charter service based in Scottsdale, appears to have abruptly closed.

In a statement posted on its website, Set Jet was apparently faced "with the unavoidable reality of ceasing all service operations" due to challenges in securing necessary funding and aircraft availability.

The company said customers with active memberships will not be charged in any upcoming billing cycles and the company would no longer be providing any service representatives to answer calls or manage member profiles.

"This is undoubtedly a challenging and deeply distressing time for all of us as a community. We understand the incredible impact this decision may have on you, and we grieve alongside you for the loss of the service and experiences we have all shared over the years," the company wrote on its website.

Described as a "membership-driven technology company," Set Jet promised to provide a positive traveling experience to popular West Coast destinations like San Diego and Las Vegas at a "fraction of the cost."

The company advertised itself as giving travelers the option to "buy a seat" instead of a jet for a monthly membership fee of $99.

Just a couple weeks ago, the company was posting on social media about how buying a Set Jet membership "is one of the most important investments to make this year."

Set Jet had announced in a press release last summer it was planning a merger with Revelstone Capital Acquisition Corp.
