SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Rock star Sammy Hagar was in Scottsdale on Saturday to sell a vehicle at the Barrett-Jackson fall auction.

The Van Halen singer sold his 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari for over $4 million, breaking a previous record-high selling price for that type of car, according to Barrett-Jackson.

Hagar said he had owned the car for 10 years and had only racked up about 1,100 miles on the vehicle. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer said the vehicle is capable of reaching 220 mph, though he's driven it that fast before.

"It's too much car and somebody needs to have this car because it just sits at my warehouse with my other cars..." Hagar said during the auction.

Before the auction ended, Hagar invited the car's buyer to come to Cabo with him to partake in a birthday celebration for the rock legend. Hagar turned 77 on Sunday.
