Pepper balls used to stop reported riot was reported at a juvenile behavior facility in north Phoenix

The riot was reported at a juvenile behavior facility near Black Canyon Highway and Rose Garden Lane in north Phoenix. Here are the latest details.

PHOENIX — Several juveniles were hospitalized and several others were arrested after officers used pepper balls to stop a riot that was reported at a juvenile behavior facility, according to the Phoenix Police Department

Police told 12News they were called to the facility near Black Canyon Highway and Rose Garden Lane at about 8 p.m. on Saturday after staff called to report a riot.

When officers arrived, they used pepper balls to get the "juvenile aggressors" to give up and stop the riot.

Police said six juveniles, four male and two female, were arrested. They are facing several charges for "criminal damage, aggravated assault on a police officer, aggravated assault on a healthcare worker, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest," according to police.

Some other juveniles were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution to be treated for irritation from the pepper balls' Pava powder. Police did not say how many juveniles were hospitalized.

Three individuals were taken to the hospital, but police did not say who the individuals are.

Police said four victims were assaulted by the suspects.

This is a developing story and more details will be added as they are made available.
