1 person has serious burns after a propane explosion and fire in the West Valley

BUCKEYE, Ariz. — Two fires in Buckeye left one person injured, authorities said.

One fire was reported to be a garage fire which was "rapidly knocked down" and is under control. No injuries were reported. That happened in a neighborhood near Rooks Road and Southern Avenue.

Another fire was reported to be started by a propane explosion near Sun Valley Parkway and Desert Oasis Boulevard. The fire was quickly contained and extinguished when units got to the scene, Buckeye Fire and Medical said. One person was found with burns to about 25% of their body, mainly on their arms and legs. 

The person is being taken to the hospital.

Authorities are investigating the origins of both fires.
