PHOENIX — Officials were dispatched Monday to recover skeletal remains discovered along a mountain range in north Phoenix.
The police department and medical examiner are in the midst of investigating the scene where the remains were found near 67th Avenue and Happy Valley Road.
"When officers arrived, they were told by a witness they believed there were human remains on a remote area on a mountain" police said. "Several resources were used to locate and direct investigators to the area of the found remains."
Officials have not disclosed whether the remains have been identified.
