The crash involved 11 people inside three different vehicles. According to police, a light green sedan was travelling eastbound on Bethany Home Road when the driver may have suffered a medical emergency, causing the car to drift into the centerline. The vehicle then collided with two other cars that were travelling westbound.

In one of the westbound vehicles were 26-year-old Donte Caraway and a 5-year-old girl. The two did not survive the crash.

Authorities from the Vehicular Crimes Unit have said that speed and impairment do not appear to be factors in the crash at this time.
