PHOENIX — An 82-year-old man was killed Monday after he was hit by a car near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road, police said.
Police said Tomas Gonzalez was crossing Thomas Road in the crosswalk when he was struck by a black passenger vehicle heading eastbound on Thomas Road.
Witnesses told detectives there was a second white vehicle involved, but it is unknown if the vehicle stuck Gonzalez. Both vehicles continued eastbound on Thomas Road and left the area.
Phoenix police said speed may have played a factor in the collision, but they could not say for sure until the investigation is complete.
