Police: Pedestrian struck and killed by possible DUI driver in Peoria

The crash happened near Olive and Grand avenues, Peoria police said.

PEORIA, Ariz. — A pedestrian is dead after they were struck by a car near Olive and Grand avenues around 10:40 p.m. on Thursday, Peoria police confirmed.

First responders pronounced the pedestrian dead on the scene. Police have not released their identity at this time.

The driver stayed on scene to cooperate with the investigation, but police believe that speed and impairment played a part in the crash.

Officials expect the roadway to be closed for some time Friday morning.
