PEORIA, Ariz. - A Peoria police report provides new details on a violent shooting Wednesday inside a clothing store. Christina Park was shot and killed inside the store Wednesday afternoon. Police say 18-year-old Jourdyn Ford killed Park.

According to a police report, Ford entered the store and shopped for about 10 minutes before taking $400 worth of clothes to the counter. After Park rang the items up, the report states, Ford pulled out a .38 caliber handgun and shot Park in the chest. He then walked around the counter and shot Park a second time in the eye.

The report says Ford then grabbed keys to Park’s Mercedes SUV and took off. Witnesses shopping in the store found Park about 10 minutes later.

Police got their first break when surveillance video cameras captured Ford inside the store. An image was generated from the video and officers identified Ford through previous contact.

Detectives contacted Mercedes and discovered the SUV is equipped with a tracking system. Officers found the abandoned SUV a few hours later with some of the stolen clothing inside.

A police search later uncovered a cell phone listed from a previous contact with Ford. Investigators contacted the cell carrier, which “pinged” the phone to an apartment complex on Indian School Road.

Police found Ford at the complex and, after a brief chase, took him into custody.

According to the report, Ford admitted to shooting Park and asked if “she was dead.” Ford told police he was scared after pointing the gun at Park and gripped the gun tight, pulling the trigger. He told police when she started screaming, he shot her again.

Ford has been charged with first-degree murder.
