Phoenix woman claims she was drugged while at bar

It was a night out with friends. A chance to celebrate one's birthday while having a good time with others. About 10 people including Nicole McCready were in Cave Creek.

"We were having a good time everything seemed normal," McCready said.

The group started with dinner at Harold's before heading over to the Buffalo Chip to watch some bull riding. McCready says they were there about three hours although most of it she doesn't remember.

"The last thing I remember was having fun with my friends then (I) woke up in the hospital," McCready said. McCready believes someone slipped her a drug. "I don't know why they targeted me."

Her fiancée, Kevin Fillmore was there that night.

"I went to the bathroom for five minutes and when I came back she was gone," Fillmore said.

After searching the bar and others nearby for about an hour someone in the group found McCready lying face down in the dirt parking lot.

"I was scared for her life at that point," Fillmore said.

McCready was alive but she was clearly "out of it," according to Fillmore. He says McCready was having convulsions and grinding her teeth. Paramedics and MCSO were called to the scene. McCready was rushed to the hospital where doctors found meth in her system.

"Someone put it in her drink or something," Fillmore said.

McCready has no memory of almost anything. There are bruises on her body and scrapes and cuts all over her knees and elbows.

"I'm trying hard to think back and remember something but I don't remember anything, nothing," McCready said.

While it is unclear it does not appear that McCready was sexually assaulted. Her clothes were on and everything buttoned when she was found.

"Something easily could have happened, I don't remember," she said.

Detectives with MCSO have started an investigation.

"I want whoever did this punished," Fillmore said.

McCready was released from the hospital this past Saturday after less than 24 hours. Her fiancée said her body felt numb and she did have a few more convulsions that night.

"It's terrifying, I feel completely violated," McCready said.

The couple has received plenty of support from friends through social media. McCready shared her story the next day. She hopes it will remind other woman to be aware and make sure they stay with friends in case something like this happens.

"I'm so lucky Kevin found me," she said.
