On Tuesday, the police department posted a video of the officer's heroics to its X (formerly Twitter) account.

The crash happened early Halloween morning at an apartment complex near 35th Avenue and Indian School Road. The man's car became submerged in the pool after he said "he accidentally stepped on the gas too hard."

In the video, you can see the officer dive into the pool to save the trapped man. The officer breaks through the car's sunroof to pull the man to safety before any other first responders arrived at the scene.

"Thanks to the swift and courageous response of the officer, the man's life was saved," the social media post said in part.

The man was taken to the hospital. An update on his condition is not available.
