Phoenix police officers go above and beyond after delivery driver arrested, finish the delivery

After Phoenix police arrested a grocery delivery driver mid-order, officers took it upon themselves to finish the job!

PHOENIX — What happens when Phoenix police arrest a driver and spot a load of groceries out for delivery in the back of their car?

Well, when you're these officers, you finish the delivery!

After officers arrested a grocery delivery service driver, they took the groceries, knocked on the customer's door, and made sure she got her food. The department shared body camera footage of the moment to their social media pages.

The moment, captured on TikTok by the homeowner, went viral and has garnered 1.8M views on the social media platform.

"Wait, I'm confused," the resident (understandably) said when police arrived to ask if she ordered groceries.

"The person that was delivering had a little mishap with us," the officer explained.

Eric Dilyard, a patrol officer with the Phoenix Police Department, said he was called to the scene and said the driver asked police to take the groceries back to the store so another driver could help complete the food delivery order.

"I just said, 'Well, you're already out. Might as well complete your sale, [so] you get paid,' Dilyard."'No sense in you losing your job for something silly', so I completed his his transaction for him."
