PHOENIX — The parents of a baby have been taken into custody after the child was taken to the hospital and tested positive for having fentanyl and amphetamines in their system.
Dylan Wilson and Jerriana Miller, both 21, were arrested this week following an investigation that began last October after their 8-month-old baby displayed "symptoms of withdrawal" while undergoing treatment at a local hospital, court records show.
Blood tests showed the parents allegedly tested positive for fentanyl. Miller allegedly told police she tries to keep the child away from the drug use taking place at their residence, records show.
The parents were booked into the Maricopa County jail and are facing charges of child abuse.
