PHOENIX (AP) - A Phoenix-area man who pleaded guilty to charges tied to the operation of a multistate drug ring has been sentenced to 15 months in prison.

Maricopa County Superior Court officials say 33-year-old Long Phuc Hoang, of Anthem, also was sentenced Tuesday to four years' probation.

Last month, Hoang pleaded guilty to charges of illegal control of an enterprise and solicitation to commit production of marijuana in an amount over 4 pounds.

Hoang was one of eight people arrested in the case in May 2015 after authorities seized nearly 600 marijuana plants along with guns and cash.

An investigation uncovered a nationwide drug ring that moved drugs from Arizona to as far east as North Carolina.

Authorities believe the money from the operation was being laundered through car and property proceeds.
