PHOENIX — It may not be summer quite yet, but the City of Phoenix knows it's never too early to start planning for the summer. And with 18 pool options, you can start planning too!
There will be 16 pools open all season long, with two additional pools opening in June and July.
The pools open for the entire season, starting May 25-27 and open June 1 through July 28 are:
- Coronado, at Coronado Park in central Phoenix
- Cortez, at Cortez Park in west Phoenix
- Deer Valley, at Deer Valley Park in north Phoenix
- El Prado, at El Prado Park in south Phoenix
- Encanto, at Encanto Park in central Phoenix
- Falcon, at Falcon Park in west Phoenix
- Harmon, at Harmon Park in south Phoenix
- Madison, at Madison Park in central Phoenix
- Maryvale, at Maryvale Park in west Phoenix
- Paradise Valley, at Paradise Valley Park in north Phoenix
- Pecos, Pecos Park in Ahwatukee
- Perry, at Phoenix Park Perry Public Park Place in central Phoenix
- Roosevelt, at El Reposo Park in south Phoenix
- Starlight, at Starlight Park in west Phoenix
- Sunnyslope, on Dunlap Road in central Phoenix
- Washington, at Washington Park in central Phoenix
These pools will be closed on Fridays, according to the City of Phoenix news release.
The Cielito Pool will be open Memorial Day weekend and June 1 to 27, closed Fridays. The David C. Uribe Pool will open in July, from July 1-28, closed Friday.
Additionally, eight pools will also have an extended season: Cortez, Encanto, Maryvale, Paradise Valley, Pecos, Perry, Roosevelt and Sunnyslope will be open weekends through Labor Day.
Children under the age of 17 can swim for free at certain "Kool Kids pools." Adults can swim for $3 and seniors over the age of 60 can swim for $1.
Can't swim? The City of Phoenix has swim lessons for kids and adults throughout the summer. To learn more and register for one of the four sessions, head to the Aquatics Programs website.
Kids ages 13 to 17 years old can participate in a Junior Lifeguard Academy, and there are water exercise classes and swim teams available to join throughout the summer.
