GLENDALE, Ariz. — A person has died after being pulled out of a canal by police officers on Saturday, according to the Glendale Police Department.
The department told 12News that they were called after someone noticed a person drifting in the canal near 51st Avenue and Cactus Road. The caller said they thought the person may have been holding onto something, but were not sure, but did say they thought the person fell into the canal.
When officers got to the area, they were able to pull the person out of the canal and immediately started performing CPR.
The person was taken to a nearby hospital, but they later died.
The person has not been identified as police are still working to notify their family members.
