PEORIA, Ariz. — The Peoria Police Department is investigating a shooting that sent one person to the hospital Tuesday morning.
Officers were dispatched to a residence near 83rd Avenue and Monroe Street for reports of a shooting and located an individual who had been struck in the leg. They were transported to a hospital and their injury has been described as non-life-threatening.
Police said officers have detained several individuals and are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting.

Maricopa County is the United States’ 4th largest county in terms of population with 4,485,414 people, according to the 2020 Census.
