PEORIA, Ariz. - Police have arrested a man in connection with a deadly Wednesday night shooting in Peoria.
According to police, the suspect is 18-year-old Jourdyn Ford, and he is expected to face homicide and robbery charges.
About 20 hours after the shooting, Peoria and Phoenix police along with SWAT, K9 units and the U.S. Marshalls found and arrested Ford around 1 p.m. at an apartment complex near 43rd Avenue and Indian School Road.
Police said the shooting was at a shop near Peoria and Grand avenues during a robbery. A victim, later identified as store owner Christina Park, was taken from the scene to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police said Thursday she has died.
According to police, Ford entered the clothing store, shot Park twice, and left with merchandise from the store.
Ford left the store in the victim's vehicle, which police found later in Phoenix.
