Woman seriously injured after Phoenix crash

A woman sustained serious injuries after being involved in a crash Wednesday morning.

PHOENIX — A woman is recovering in the hospital Wednesday after being involved in a crash in Phoenix, the city's police department said.

Phoenix police said officers responded to the scene of a crash near 7th and Van Burenn streets around 7 a.m. and found a crash with injuries.

As officers arrived, they found a woman with serious injuries. She was examined by emergency crews and transported to a nearby hospital, officials said. 

The identity of the woman and what led up to the crash was not immediately being known. The investigation is currently ongoing.
