PHOENIX — A pedestrian is dead after an early morning crash in Phoenix, the city's police department said.
Around 5 a.m. on Friday, officers were called to a scene near 44th and Van Buren streets for reports of a crash involving a pedestrian. Police found a man with serious injuries as they arrived.
According to officials, the man was later pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as 35-year-old Foster Williams.
The drivers involved in the crash stayed on scene. As of Friday morning, Van Buren Street is closed from 40th to 44th streets. The road is expected to be shut down for an extended period of time as authorities investigate the incident.
