CHANDLER, Ariz. — A pedestrian is dead after a crash in Chandler near the I-10 and the Loop 202 San Tan freeway.
Around 12:44 a.m. on Monday, Arizona DPS said a pedestrian crash occurred on the westbound I-10 transition ramp to the Loop 202 near milepost 161A.
Authorities said a driver of a passenger car stopped in the traffic lane and got out of the car for an unknown reason. The driver was then reportedly struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
The truck driver performed CPR on the pedestrian, a man in his 30s, until emergency crews arrived. He was taken to the hospital where he later died, DPS said.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
