SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. — A driver has been taken to the hospital following a crash in San Tan Valley in which a Pinal County Sheriff's Office deputy was rear-ended, according to authorities.
Impairment is being investigated as a possible factor in the crash, PCSO spokesperson Lauren Reimer told 12News.
The incident happened Sunday evening near Gantzel Road and Painted Desert Drive.
The crash left the second car involved in the incident flipped over.
The deputy was uninjured in the crash. The other driver will be evaluated for DUI, the sheriff's office said.
Gantzel Road was closed in both directions in the area of the crash.
