PHOENIX — Officer Tyler Moldovan has suffered a fracture to his femur in a fall and has undergone surgery to repair the damage.

Moldovan has been working toward recovery for nearly three years, since he was shot multiple times in the line of duty on Dec. 14, 2021, while serving with the Phoenix Police Department.

On Friday, the Facebook page run by Moldovan's wife Chelsea posted the following:  "This has been a very unexpected day and wish we could be sharing other great news. Unfortunately, this road to recovery is progressive and we have hit another detour."

The post said Moldovan was scheduled for surgery on Saturday morning. It also asked for prayers for Moldovan.

In the post Chelsea went on to say: "Tyler's pain has been managed and he is resting in the meantime. He is not in distress thankfully."
