Not guilty plea by former DPS trooper accused of asking drivers for sex

Tremaine Jackson, who is accused of illegally detaining women he found attractive and bargaining with them to perform sexual acts, pleaded not guilty on Thursday.

PHOENIX (AP) — A former Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper accused of illegally detaining female drivers and propositioning them for sexual acts in exchange for leniency has pleaded not guilty to 23 criminal charges, including two counts of unlawful sexual conduct.

Tremaine Anthony Jackson, who was fired after his arrest earlier this month, made the not guilty plea on Thursday.

Investigators say the 43-year-old officer had grabbed one woman's hand and put it on his genitals.

Another woman accused Jackson of propositioning her for oral sex.

Jackson is accused of asking yet another woman to rub her breasts on him.

He's also accused of falsifying records to cover up his actions.

Jackson also faces kidnapping, forgery, and other charges.

The crimes Jackson is accused of committing occurred in 2018 and 2019.
