Multiple juveniles detained after robbery, shooting in West Valley

Police said three juveniles were detained and are facing armed robbery charges after the shooting Tuesday night.

GLENDALE, Ariz — A robbery involving a group of juveniles ended in gun violence Tuesday night in the West Valley. 

At about 8 p.m., three juveniles met up with another juvenile in the area of 39th Avenue and Lamar Road, where they robbed the teenage victim at gunpoint. As the robbery was happening, the victim fired gunshots and hit two of the other juveniles.

Phoenix police said the robbery victim was also shot.

The suspects ran from the scene and drove into Glendale, where one of the injured suspects was taken to a hospital. 

Glendale police found the second injured suspect, who was also taken to the hospital. 

Police said the three robbery suspects were later booked into a juvenile corrections center. The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital.
