PHOENIX — Several homes are damaged after a fire broke out in a Phoenix housing development overnight.
Just before 11:30 p.m. Sunday, crews from the Phoenix Fire Department were sent to a scene near 59th Avenue and Baseline Road for reports of a structure fire.

As fire crews arrived, they found several homes engulfed in flames inside a new housing development. According to officials, firefighters attacked the flames from a defensive posture. Ladder companies also set up for a “Big Water” operation to put out the fire from an elevated position.
Officials said the incident reached the a second alarm with more than 75 firefighters battling the blaze.
Firefighters remained on scene throughout the night to make sure all remaining hotspots were extinguished, Phoenix fire said.
No injuries were reported and the Phoenix Fire Investigation Task Force will work the scene to determine a cause.
