PHOENIX — A motorcyclist died following a traffic collision reported Friday in south Phoenix, police said.
Shortly before noon, Phoenix police officers responded to the intersection of 16th Street and Broadway Road for reports of a collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located a man riding a motorcycle, later identified as Armando Berumen Jr. Berumen Jr. was transported to the hospital, but did not survive his injuries.
Both men in the other vehicle involved in the crash were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Detectives took over the investigation and said the Berumen Jr. was traveling south on 16th Street when the other vehicle made a left turn onto Broadway Road, where the vehicles collided.
Police said impairment does not appear to a factor in the crash, but speed is. All other details of what led to the crash will be determined through the accident reconstruction process, police said.
