Crash in Phoenix leaves motorcyclist dead

The crash happened near 42nd Street and Indian School Road Monday morning.

PHOENIX — A motorcyclist is dead after he was involved in a crash near 42nd Street and Indian School Road Monday morning, Phoenix police said.

The crash happened around 6 a.m., according to a police report. The man was found suffering from critical injuries. First responders pronounced him dead on the scene.

Police said that the second vehicle involved stayed on scene following the crash.

The cause of the crash is currently unknown.

Indian School Road will be closed between 40th and 44th streets for the next several hours as police investigate the crash.

The motorcyclist's identity hasn't been released.
