Police identify motorcyclist killed in north Phoenix crash

Phoenix police said they are still investigating what led to the fatal crash.

PHOENIX — A 25-year-old man driving a motorcycle was killed in a crash in north Phoenix Saturday morning, police said.

Phoenix police officers were called around 10 a.m. to the area of Cave Creek Road and Sweetwater Avenue for the crash, which involved a motorcycle rider and a car. 

The man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. He has been identified as 25-year-old Omar Santos-Marquez.

The woman driving the car was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. 

The crash caused road closures in the area while detectives investigated, police said.
