PHOENIX - Four different cities near Phoenix are tied as the most affordable places to live, according to the real estate site Movoto.
If you're looking for a home that won't break the bank, Avondale, Florence, El Mirage and Tolleson will put less stress on your bank account.
While a number of places around the Valley might be affordable, a number of cities around the U.S. are not. Forbes released a list of the 20 least affordable places in the U.S., and New York, California, and Hawaii are especially expensive.
Luckily, those high rent prices aren't a reality here in the Valley, where residents have numerous communities within 30 minutes of downtown that require a lot less green from your wallet.
Movoto used census data to rank each place based on cost of living, median home value, percentage of income spent on rent, and an affordability ratio.
1. Avondale (tie)
2. Florence (tie)
3. El Mirage (tie)
4. Tolleson (tie)
