SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A Valley mountain biker reported missing by his family has been found dead, according to authorities.

The Scottsdale Police Department said the man's body was found inside the McDowell-Sonoran Preserve, near Stagecoach Pass and Boulder View Drive, at around 9 p.m. Friday.
The man, whose name has not been released, had been reported missing earlier in the day when he didn't return from a mountain bike ride.
Detectives with Scottdale police along with the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office will be investigating the man’s death, police said.
"Initial information points toward this death being related to a medical event or a mountain bike crash," police said.
The final determination for the man's cause of death will be issued by the medical examiner's office at a later date.
