BUCKEYE, Ariz. — The Buckeye Police Department is attempting to locate a dog that may have been with a woman shortly before she disappeared last month.

Hope Tucker, 46, was last seen on May 22 when her car broke down on Interstate 10 and Verrado Way. Tucker was traveling with her nonverbal adult son who is autistic.

The mother and son walked around attempting to find a shady spot. The son was found two days later at a gas station a few miles away from the family's car.

Nearly a month later, the son's grandfather was contacted by a hospital and informed that the grandson had been hospitalized. Police were not notified until June 22 about the incident.

Police have learned the mother and son were also traveling with a dog and investigators are now trying to track down the dog's whereabouts, which could potentially help lead them to finding Hope.

Anyone with information about the case can call 623-349-6411.

Hope Tucker, 46, was last seen May 22 on Interstate 10 near Verrado, police say.
