Mesa police asking for help to find missing child with autism

MESA, Ariz. — UPDATE: Police say Jeremiah has been safely located and returned home.

The Mesa Police Department is asking for help to find a child with autism and cerebral palsy who has been missing since Thursday.

Police say Jeremiah Osivwemu, 12, went out with his brother Joseph Diebert-Russell to go grocery shopping but never returned.

Jeremiah called his mom Friday night and said he didn’t know where he was at which point she contacted police.

Investigators say Jeremiah is a high functioning autistic child and is prone to seizures. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and grey sweatpants.

Jeremiah and his brother were driving a 2012 Nissan Versa with Arizona plates: CPN3220
