Mesa police detectives arrested a suspect in a homicide Friday morning that left one person dead and one in critical condition.
Responding officers found Unique Aguilera, 19, dead at the scene and Jesse Ibarra, 22, injured. Ibarra was taken to the hospital and he's in critical condition.
Arturo Perez, 23, was originally detained for questioning, followed by an arrest for the shooting.
According to police, a 911 call reported a shooting near East Broadway and South Lindsey roads.
Perez has been booked for second degree murder.
