MESA, Ariz. - Mesa police say the fatal fire that killed 74-year-old Joseph Chouinard on Wednesday night is being considered a homicide investigation.
"Since there was no initial clear indication of how the fire started and a death involved, the fire is listed as suspicious at this time," said Det. Steve Berry with the Mesa Police Department.
After the fire broke out, Chouinard ran into his house to get the keys for his vehicle, but he did not make it back out, investigators say.
