Medical examiner report released in the death of Wells Fargo employee in Tempe

The medical examiner determined previously that Denise Prudhomme, 60, died of natural causes. She was found dead at her desk in August.

TEMPE, Ariz. — The woman who was found dead at her desk at a Wells Fargo in Tempe died of natural causes, according to the recently released Maricopa County Medical Examiner's report.

Denise Prudhomme, 60, was reportedly at her desk for multiple days before her body was discovered on Tuesday, Aug. 20. Tempe police said the woman had scanned into work on Friday, Aug. 16.

Prudhomme's cubicle was reportedly on the third floor and away from the main aisle. An employee previously told 12News that several people smelled a foul odor but passed it off as faulty plumbing.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office determined that Prudhomme died a "sudden cardiac death," and reported no evidence of "significant natural disease," according to a report obtained by 12News this week.

The report also states Prudhomme's available medical records indicated she had a history of chronic pain, pain in her shoulders and cervicalgia. Her family members and neighbors mentioned she was a private person and kept to herself.

No one who knew her was aware of any significant "social history, medical history, or recent complaints or symptoms," the report states.
