LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. - A 24-year-old Phoenix-area man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly physically and sexually assaulting a woman who had broken up with him.
Maricopa County deputies arrested Devante Snead after he drove off from the scene of the alleged assault in the victim's car.
The victim told MCSO that Snead hit her in the face and held a knife to her throat after she tried to break off their relationship while they were in a parking lot near Litchfield and Camelback roads. She told investigators that he then forced her to perform a sex act on him.
After that assault, the victim and Snead both went into a nearby business. Snead stepped outside and the victim locked the door to the business, calling MCSO.
When deputies responded, Snead drove off in the victim's car, fleeing south on Litchfield Road and driving into oncoming traffic, according to MCSO.
He ran into a chain-link fence and was arrested in a Wendy's parking lot.
Snead was booked into the 4th Avenue Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, kidnapping, sexual assault, theft of means of transportation, unlawful flight from law enforcement and criminal damage.
