Maricopa County animal shelter needs help with laundry, more blankets after washing machine breaks

Blankets used by the dogs are replaced daily, according to the shelter.

PHOENIX — Maricopa County Animal Care & Control urgently needs blankets for the dogs it is sheltering and is reaching out to the public for donations.

A washing machine at the shelter's west branch has broken and will take several days to be repaired.

The broken machine has caused a backlog of dirty laundry, with several bags that need to be washed.

Blankets used by the dogs are replaced daily, according to the shelter.

"We go through blankets quickly, and we need your help providing new ones while we wait for our washer to be fixed," the shelter said in a Facebook post.

Blankets can be donated during business hours at the branch at 2500 S 27th Ave in Phoenix.

The shelter is also looking for volunteers to help with laundry. You can click here if you want to volunteer.
