Man killed in north Phoenix shooting

The shooting happened late Wednesday night near 19th Avenue and Deer Valley Road, Phoenix police said.

PHOENIX — An investigation is underway after a shooting in north Phoenix left one man dead, city police said. The suspect reportedly fled before police arrived.

According to early reports, the shooting happened around 10 p.m. near 19th Avenue and Deer Valley Road. When officers arrived, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

First responders took the man, who hasn't been identified at this time, to the hospital where he later died.

Homicide detectives are working to learn more about the shooting. At this time, police haven't released details about the suspect.

Calls to Silent Witness are answered 24/7 by a live person and submitted tips are accepted at all times. Submitted tips are then sent to the detective(s) in charge of the specific case. 

Individuals who submit tips that lead to an arrest or indictment in the case can get a reward of up to $1,000.
