PHOENIX — A man is in the hospital Friday morning after a robbery in Phoenix, the city's police department said.
Around 12:30 a.m. on Friday, officers were called to the scene near 25th Avenue and Hazelwood Street for a shots fired call. Officers then found a man with a gunshot wound as they arrived on scene.
Authorities said the man was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As the investigation began, officers learned the man was the victim of a robbery by two men. The victim was reportedly shot by one of the suspects during the robbery attempt, police said.
According to police, both of the robbery suspects fled the scene before police arrived.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. The identities of the victim or suspects were not released.
