Superstition Fire and Medical District firefighters found a man dead in a desert area Tuesday afternoon near Apache Junction.
They were responding to a report of an unconscious hiker when they came across the body of a man believed to be in his late 40s.
The scene is near US 60 and Mountain View Road.
It's not clear what happened to the man, but Tuesday is expected to be the hottest day of the year, topping Monday's high temperature of 116.
In a tweet, SFMD called the man's death a "tragic reminder to stay indoors and hydrated in these extreme heat conditions.
