PHOENIX — A man is dead after a shooting in Phoenix, the city's police department said.
Around 8 a.m. on Tuesday morning, officers responded to the area of 31st Avenue and Washington Street for a shooting call. As officers arrived on scene, they found a man with a gunshot wound, police said.
The man, later identified as David Cordova, 29, was taken to the hospital but he did not survive his injuries, officials said.
Through an investigation, officers identified 46-year-old Henry Celaya as the suspect and arrested him at a home near 33rd Avenue and Washington Street.
Celaya was later booked into Maricopa County Jail
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing
