Man crashes into Phoenix apartment complex after doing burnouts in the street, police say

PHOENIX — A suspected case of reckless driving ended with a man crashing into a Phoenix apartment complex shortly after 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

Witnesses told Phoenix police that a man was doing burnouts in the roadway near 27th and Glendale avenues before crashing into a nearby building, officials said.

First responders took the man to the hospital as a precaution while officers handled the investigation.

12News crews on the scene saw one of the units damaged where the vehicle hit it.

Police did not identify the suspect or share what charges he may be facing. There is no word on whether or not the man was inebriated.
